Since world war 2, the U.S. foreign policy took a drastic change, from isolationism to a more global and aggressive policy.
According to this article written by Jon Baker, http://www.ecclectica.ca/issues/2003/1/baker.asp
most of the problems the U.S. face are due to its own foreign policy.

I suggest reading it, as i found it very interesting. I warn you however it is long, so i recommend just skimming through it, or simply looking at the data near the end of the article.

I am open to other interpretations, and look forward to seeing what you guys think.
